The Budokai series plays like a typical 3D fighting game. Also, the Budokai games have a ki meter which enables the user to use energy attacks and transformation, which the Tekken games do not have.
However, there are differences such as the Budokai series has projectile attacks, like energy waves and energy balls, which are entirely absent in the Tekken series. The gameplay of the Budokai games is similar to the Tekken games in that they have 3D arenas and the camera is angled to the right side of the player.
